Data Owner Director

As a Data Owner at our company, you play a crucial role in enabling the business to innovate faster through effective data management. Your responsibilities include ensuring that data is well-documented, of high quality, and adequately protected. You will be overseeing all customer application and account opening data, from creation to consumption for advanced analytics and AI/ML use cases. **Role Overview:** In your role as the Vice President Area Data Owner, you will serve as a subject matter expert in defining and classifying data critical to your product. You will lead the change management process from legacy to modernized data, collaborating with technology and business partners to meet data requirements. Your focus will also be on identifying, monitoring, and mitigating data risks throughout the data life cycle. **Key Responsibilities:** - Document data requirements for your product, coordinate with technology and business partners for data creation and management of legacy to modernized data - Model data with a long-term vision to enable efficient querying, natural language querying, and usage in LLMs - Develop data product ideas by understanding analytics needs, creating prototypes for data engineering teams, and leading productization efforts - Create proof of concepts for natural language querying, collaborate with stakeholders, and rollout capabilities to business users - Support the team in backlog building, grooming initiatives, and creating user stories to lead data engineering scrum teams - Manage direct or matrixed staff to execute data-related tasks **Qualifications Required:** - Bachelor's degree required; Masters degree preferred - 12+ years of experience in data modeling for relational, NoSQL, and graph databases - Proficiency in data technologies such as analytics, business intelligence, machine learning, data warehousing, data management & governance, and AWS cloud solutions - Experience with natural language processing, machine learning, and deep learning toolkits - Knowledge of open data standards, data taxonomy, metadata management, and data vocabularies - Ability to balance short-term goals and long-term vision in highly complex environments This job is ideal for individuals who are passionate about data management, innovation, and driving business growth through effective data utilization.
