Data Engineering Consultant - DBA

Primary Responsibilities:

• Identify and explore the Sql Server 2025 version and AI integration with SQL, explore AI ready enterprise database and other capabilities around it
• Provide support for Mongo DB
• Work closely with the Database Administration Team to meet user requirements
• Support and maintain MSSQL database environments development, test & production
• System tuning, performance monitoring, and database maintenance
• Diagnose and troubleshoot database errors
• Assist with Application and User support when needed
• Attend design reviews, review execution plans, SQL code reviews and other general database administrations tasks as required
• Ability to handle On-Call support on rotational basis
• This position requires that the individual must be able to work flexible hours if required and be on-site or available via cell phone during all scheduled On-Call times
• Perform DR exercises in case of scheduled DR drills or Disaster recovery
• Troubleshoot performance issues using Query store
• Tuning SQL
• Planning and migration of MSSQL databases from on-premises to Azure
• Troubleshooting performance issues in Azure SQL Database
• Attend training sessions offered within the group and assist in training workshops
• Recommend improvements to help the team work more efficiently

• Document and update procedures as required

Required Qualifications:

• Solid experience with SQL 2012, 2014, 2016,2017,2019, 2022 & Azure SQL
• Experience as production SQL Server DBA in enterprise environment
• Experience in T-SQL, AlwaysOn, Replication, Change Data Capture (CDC), Clustering, Backup and Recovery, SQL Jobs, SQL Profiler, Extended events
• Experience in Azure SQL Database Administration
• Experience in the Database Design, analysis, development, administration and support of SQL Server in Production, QA, Test and Development environments
• Experience in install, patch, configure, monitor, maintain, and performance tuning on production databases. Experience with supporting large databases
• Experience or knowledge in Mongo DB Skills
• Knowledge of migrating databases residing on servers in one data center to another and upgrading database platforms to newer versions
• Knowledge of migrating MSSQL databases from on-premises to Azure
