Job Description

Key Responsibilities

Data Modeling & Architecture

  • Design and maintain scalable, high-performance data models using Salesforce standard and custom objects.

  • Define and enforce data architecture standards, naming conventions, and metadata management practices.

  • Develop entity-relationship diagrams and data flow diagrams to support solution design.

  • Align data models with business processes and reporting requirements.

  • Evaluate and implement Salesforce Data Cloud (formerly Customer Data Platform) for unified customer profiles.

Integration & Migration

  • Lead data integration efforts using APIs, ETL tools, and middleware (e.g., MuleSoft).

  • Plan and execute data migration strategies for Salesforce implementations.

  • Design and implement secure, scalable data pipelines between Salesforce and external systems (ERP, marketing, analytics).

  • Define and implement data migration strategies including data cleansing, deduplication, and transformation.

  • Ensure data synchronization across systems using batch and real-time integration patterns.

Collaboration & Strategy

  • Partner with business analysts, developers, and stakeholders to translate business needs into technical data solutions.

  • Provide architectural guidance during Salesforce implementations, upgrades, and enhancements.

  • Participate in enterprise architecture reviews and contribute to long-term data strategy.

  • Advocate for data-driven decision-making and promote data literacy across teams.

Performance & Compliance

  • Monitor and optimize data performance, storage usage, and API limits within Salesforce.

  • Implement data retention, archival, and purging strategies to manage data lifecycle.

  • Ensure compliance with data privacy and security regulations (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA, CCPA).

  • Conduct regular audits and risk assessments related to data access and usage.

Documentation & Training

  • Create and maintain comprehensive documentation including data dictionaries, integration maps, and architecture diagrams.

  • Develop training materials and conduct workshops for technical and non-technical users.

  • Support onboarding of new team members and provide mentorship to junior architects or developers.

  • Additional duties as assigned.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in data architecture, with 2+ years in Salesforce environments.

  • Proficiency in Salesforce Data Cloud, Salesforce CPQ, and Salesforce Platform.

  • Strong demonstrable knowledge of Apex, SOQL, REST/SOAP APIs, and ETL tools.

  • Experience with data modeling, data warehousing, and data governance.

  • Salesforce certifications such as:

  • Certified Data Architect

  • Certified Application Architect

  • Certified Integration Architecture Designer

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field highly preferred:

  • Computer Science

  • Information Systems

  • Software Engineering

  • Data Science

  • Business Information Technology

Preferred Experience

  • Background in enterprise-scale CRM implementations.

  • Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).

  • Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies.
