Data Analytics Engineer

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the migration of dashboards, reports, and visualizations to Power BI.
• Translate existing workflows into optimized Power BI reports that align with enterprise data standards.
• Build reusable data models and semantic layers to support self-service analytics.
• Partner with data engineering teams to ensure clean, reliable data sources are available in Power BI.
• Optimize report performance, governance, and usability for global stakeholders.
  Collaborate with business teams to train and onboard users into the Power BI ecosystem.
• Contribute to BI best practices, documentation, and standardization.

Required Qualifications:

• 6+ years of experience in BI/reporting development.
• Strong expertise in Power BI (DAX, Power Query, data modeling, performance tuning).
• Hands-on experience with ThoughtSpot (dashboard/report creation, search-driven analytics).
• Solid SQL skills and experience querying Snowflake and/or Azure Databricks.
• Experience with data visualization best practices and storytelling with data.
• Understanding of BI governance, security, and role-based access.
• Experience of working in Agile environments with sprint planning, backlog management, and iterative delivery.
• Exposure to Power BI service administration, APIs, and deployment pipelines (CI/CD) for enterprise BI environments.

Nice-to-Have Skills:

• Prior BI migration or cross-platform reporting consolidation experience.
• Knowledge of dbt and modern data stack.
• Familiarity with the insurance domain.
• Exposure to cloud data integration (Azure Data Factory, Synapse).
• Familiarity with integrating AI/ML-driven insights into dashboards is a plus

Communication:

• Facilitates team and stakeholder meetings effectively
• Holds regular status meetings / scrum meeting
• Resolves and/or escalates issues in a timely fashion
• Understands how to communicate difficult/sensitive information tactfully
• Astute cross-cultural awareness and experience in working with international teams (especially US)
