As a Test Engineer, you will be responsible for conducting and maintaining battery tests using various equipment and fixturing. You will oversee thermal and mechanical tests, analyze test data, propose design of experiments, and summarize results in test reports. Your role will involve optimizing module and pack lifetime, creating models to simulate battery performance, and performing cell-level dissection analysis to identify energy and power losses. Additionally, you will collaborate with a cross-functional product development team to determine the ideal cell chemistry and design for electric vehicle applications. You will plan and execute cell/battery pack testing, troubleshoot issues during testing, and utilize your expertise in sensor instrumentation and data acquisition systems. The ideal candidate for this role should have experience working with different cell chemistries, be knowledgeable about battery degradation mechanisms, and possess expertise in handling low and high-voltage lithium-ion battery systems. Strong communication skills are essential for presenting technical test data to stakeholders and cross-functional teams. Proficiency in instrumentation, coding, reliability testing, and quality management is desired, along with previous experience in battery testing on proving grounds.
