Role Summary: We are seeking an expert Design Engineer specializing in vibration dampers for automotive applications. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in the design and development of rubber and viscous dampers , coupled with simulation expertise. This individual will work independently with OEMs and internal teams to deliver innovative, high-performance solutions. Key Responsibilities: 1. Design & Development: Lead the design of rubber and viscous dampers, ensuring alignment with customer and OEM specifications. Optimize damper performance for automotive applications through material and structural design. 2. Simulation & Analysis: Utilize CAE tools for vibration analysis, thermal behavior, and structural integrity of dampers. Perform FEA and NVH (Noise, Vibration, Harshness) simulations to validate designs. 3. OEM Collaboration: Act as a technical liaison with OEMs, understanding requirements and presenting innovative solutions. Manage end-to-end development cycles, from concept to production readiness. 4. Technical Expertise: Conduct material selection and testing, particularly for rubber compounds and viscous damping fluids. Develop prototypes and oversee performance validation through laboratory and field testing. 5. Project Management: Manage project timelines, costs, and deliverables while ensuring compliance with IATF 16949 and other quality standards. 6. Continuous Improvement: Keep abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and evolving OEM needs. Implement design and process improvements to enhance product performance and cost-efficiency. Requirements: Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or related fields. Experience: 8+ years of experience in vibration damper design and development (rubber and viscous). Hands-on experience with CAE tools like ANSYS, Abaqus, or similar platforms. Proven track record of working independently with global OEMs. Technical Skills: Expertise in NVH analysis, FEA, and material behavior. Knowledge of rubber compound formulation and viscous fluid dynamics. Familiarity with automotive standards and specifications. Soft Skills: Strong project management and communication skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a cross-functional team. Preferred Qualifications: Experience with IoT integration for damper performance monitoring. Familiarity with manufacturing processes such as molding and casting for dampers. Previous collaboration with Tier 1 suppliers or global automotive brands. Qualification: BE / M-Tech: Mechanical / Automobile Experience Range: 8 to 12 Years Roles & Responsibilities: Design and Development: Create and develop suspension isolators for Engine/HV battery installation, aggregate mounts and related components to minimize vibrations and noise. Design and Development: Chassis aggregates mainly Casting parts and sheet metal parts for the mounting of battery, Engine and other aggregates etc. Design / solution identification as per requirement and align within cross functional department, also interaction with development partners Problem-Solving: Strong problem-solving skills to troubleshoot and resolve issues that may arise during the design, installation, and operation of isolators Must Have: Suspension Isolator Technology: In-depth knowledge of rubber technology, including design principles, operational procedures, and maintenance protocols, Suspension Isolator Dynamics Mechanical Design and Engineering: Proficiency in mechanical design and engineering to create robust and reliable suspension isolator systems for High voltage battery, Engine and other aggregate mounting. Project Coordination: Ability to manage and coordinate activities with cross-functional teams and suppliers for serial changes and within projects. Manufacturing Processes: Understanding of manufacturing processes such as rubber, sheet metal, casting, and machining. CATIA V5 R20: Hands-on experience in CATIA V5 R20 for model preparation using modules like part design, SMD, GSD, assembly, and drawings. Design Documentation: Capability to perform design documentation in PLM and generate Bill of Materials. GD&T: Good knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) and ability to perform tolerance stack-up analysis. Interpersonal Skills: Strong interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills. Team player. Responsibility and Decision-Making: Willingness to take responsibility and make decisions. Position : Engineer/Sr. Engineer- Mechanical system Location : Bangalore Minimum education : BE/B. Tech (Mechanical) Industry : Building Services / Utilities & Plant Engineering / Energy management consultancy Experience : Min 3~5 years related experience on MEP infrastructure system (HVAC, Steam & Hot water, Compressed Air, Water management systems (STP/ETP/WTP) and Fire & Safety systems) Designing, Installation, Testing & commissioning, Project, energy assessment, its performance measurement and report preparation in the commercial building/ Industrial utilities /Manufacturing industries/ Data Center sectors Successfully lead & completed the minimum 3 (Three) MEP infrastructure projects or successfully implemented 2 (Two) energy management projects. A sound knowledge of MEP infrastructure system and its control systems along with the best practices of Design & Installation. Additional capabilities like EPI, EUI, PUE calculation, Star ratings, ROI and payback calculation, and financial modelling of energy management projects. Roles : Will be responsible for Gap analysis & Solutioning of Capacity Utilization, Root cause analysis (RCA) of system Breakdown for Fault and Performance management, Suggesting the technical upgrades, Planning the retrofitting, Defining the SLA with OEM, Providing technical supports to Energy Management for Performance analysis and O&M practice for system maintenance & overhauling of the Mechanical systems Responsibilities : Carrying out site inspections and surveys, Conduct onsite system due-diligence & Analyze performance & utilization of existing Mechanical systems. Collate the Mechanical system data for bench marking its Performance & Utilization as per the industries standard & best practices. Detailed Engineering, Testing & Commissioning and Trouble shooting of Mechanical systems on site. Provide technical support to Customer/Procurement for Mechanical system selection & finalizing specification during the Engineering & Construction phase. Provide technical support to Energy Management team for Performance evaluation & Defining KPI of Mechanical systems on site. Provide technical support to the Operation & Maintenance team for defining SLA, Breakdown & RCA of Mechanical systems onsite with OEM. Conduct the walk-through assessment to analyze and identify the energy saving potential in the existing MEP infrastructure systems through retrofits / upgradation / modernization / digitalization / Automation or energy management practices. Skills, knowledge and abilities: Must have excellent Oral and written communication, interpersonal, organizational, analytical and prioritization skills. Hands-on experience on working & trouble shooting of Mechanical systems like Central Chiller plants- Air & Water cooled, Chilled & Condenser water circuits, Chilled & Condenser water pumps, AHU/FCU, Cooling Tower, Precision Air Conditioner, Refrigerant piping, Raise Floor system, Exhaust & Ventilation fans, Fire Hydrant & pumping system, DG exhaust, Water pumps. Hands-on experience on control & the safeties available in the Mechanical systems mentioned above. Basic personal computer, business software skill and familiarity with reporting tools are added advantage. Basic understanding of various standards like ASHRAE/ISHRAE/IS/CE/UL for Mechanical systems. Ability to read and interpret systems and construction documents. Ability to accomplish tasks timely and with minimal supervision. Ability to lead & mentoring a group of Mechanical engineers & interact openly with the OEM. Should be able to work in virtual teams and lead teams as practice expands.
