As an Automation Test Engineer with 5+ years of experience, you will be responsible for owning the end-to-end testing lifecycle for backend APIs and frontend interfaces. Additionally, you will conduct manual exploratory testing for critical workflows and edge cases, collaborate with developers and business teams to understand requirements, and ensure comprehensive test coverage. Your responsibilities will also involve driving initiatives to enhance release confidence, regression coverage, and automation health. It will be essential for you to rigorously test fintech-specific compliance scenarios and provide final QA sign-off before any deployment to UAT or production environments. The must-have skills for this role include a minimum of 3 years of experience in automation testing for both backend and frontend systems, proficiency in tools like Cypress, Postman, and RestAssured, and a strong understanding of manual testing practices and bug tracking. You should also possess knowledge of REST APIs, JSON, HTTP concepts, and SQL for validating data integrity. Experience in writing test cases, maintaining test documentation, and working in a high-ownership startup culture with minimal supervision is required. Familiarity with tools like JIRA, Git, and CI/CD pipelines is also essential. Nice-to-have skills include exposure to performance testing tools, testing systems with multi-tenant architecture, and knowledge of compliance and audit requirements in financial applications.
