A cylindrical grinding operator is responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining a cylindrical grinding machine to precisely grind external surfaces of cylindrical workpieces by removing material with a rotating abrasive wheel, ensuring high accuracy and quality while adhering to strict tolerances and safety procedures; tasks include reading engineering drawings, selecting appropriate grinding wheels, adjusting machine settings, monitoring the grinding process, performing quality checks, and maintaining proper machine upkeep.
