About the Role: We are looking for a technically sound and customer-focused Support Engineer to assist in deploying and troubleshooting our Web Application Firewall (SiteWALL) for our clients. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of web application infrastructure, DNS, HTTP/HTTPS protocols, SSL/TLS and basic cybersecurity concepts. You will play a critical role in ensuring successful deployment, configuration, and ongoing support of SiteWALL in various customer environments — from simple setups to complex, high-availability architectures. Key Responsibilities: Assist customers in deploying and configuring SiteWALL WAF across cloud and on-prem environments. Guide clients through DNS routing and traffic redirection to enable protection via SiteWALL. Troubleshoot web application connectivity, performance, or blocking issues post-WAF deployment. Collaborate with engineering and product teams to replicate, escalate, and resolve complex technical issues . Deliver training and onboarding sessions for customers and partners. Create and maintain deployment documentation, how-to guides , and solution articles and knowledge base. Provide support via email, phone, or remote sessions during business hours (or shifts, if applicable). Stay up-to-date with new features, releases, and threat trends relevant to SiteWALL. Requirements: Technical Skills: Solid understanding of DNS , CDN , and reverse proxy concepts. Experience with Linux command-line , nginx/apache , or similar systems. This includes design, deployment, migration, automation and operational support of critically important Oracle and SQL Server databases hosted on the Microsoft Azure platform. You will work closely with DB Design, Application and Cloud teams to build robust, scalable and secure databases environments in Azure using industry standard methodologies and ensuring these systems are maintained to these standards. The role involves designing and implementing the database strategies for backup and recovery, performance analysis, clustering, data management, user and developer assistance, and be a point of escalation. Also responsible for database connectivity using ODBC, JDBC or vendor specific architectures. Key responsibilities of the role: Leads projects’ priorities and outcomes. Evaluates new database features, emerging database technologies, and database reference architecture on premise and in public / private cloud. Accountabilities This role will lead a team of engineers and specialists to plan, complete, and sustain the full lifecycle of security solutions. As an entrepreneurial and innovation-driven role, you will operate within AstraZeneca’s Cybersecurity Products and Assurance group to deliver quality services and solutions that meet both business and IT needs. You will provide technical leadership, guidance, definition, and design of enterprise-wide security initiatives. Collaborate with Business, Solution Delivery, Engineering, and Quality and Compliance functions across a global organization spanning US, UK, Sweden, China, Japan, Poland, Mexico, India, and beyond. Develop Cyber Security solutions for Cloud, Hybrid, on-premise, and third-party collaboration environments. Identify, design, and deploy cyber security solutions for the organization. Influence the future state of cyber security within assigned domains through review and gap analysis. Create and promote security best practices such as playbooks and standards. Implement and enforce strategies and policies across the enterprise. Define and create a portfolio of secure design principles. Collaborate with other technical cyber functions for effective security. Stay abreast of innovations in the cyber industry and incorporate them into solutions. Guide and support Architects, Engineering, and Support functions to ensure solutions align with AZ Security policies. Perform security reviews using threat modeling and other techniques. Hire, lead, and grow a diverse team with an inclusive culture. Essential Skills/Experience Must have an in-depth understanding of key cybersecurity frameworks, controls, and standard methodologies. Experience with leading cybersecurity vendor solutions across the OSI layers. Proven capability in problem-solving, defining requirements, and developing solution blueprints. Excellent understanding of Cloud, Hybrid, and On-Premise architectures. Familiarity with common attack techniques and their remediation/defense. Solid understanding of security protocols, cryptography, authentication, authorization, and network security implementations. Ability to carry out evaluations, gap analysis, and vendor assessments for security technologies. Ability to design, build, test, and implement cyber security solutions. Ability to map governance and compliance frameworks to technical implementation. Strong Cloud architecture experience across multiple verticals. Ability to prioritize and validate critical threats. Experience in security roadmap and strategy development. Ability to work across multiple teams in various geographic regions. Excellent written and oral communication skills.
