Deputy Manager Legal (Government Contracts) Location : Bangalore / Gurgaon / Noida | Experience : 58 years | Qualification : Law degree from a reputed institution (LL.M. preferred) Status : URGENT REQUIREMENT Protiviti India is seeking a dynamic and experienced legal professional to join our in-house legal team as Deputy Manager Legal (Government Contracts) . The role involves managing complex RFPs, public sector contracts, and compliance matters related to government and PSU engagements. This is an exciting opportunity for a legal expert with strong exposure to government procurement frameworks, looking to work at the intersection of law, compliance, and consulting. Key Responsibilities Provide end-to-end legal support to Protiviti India entities, focusing on government and public sector RFPs and contracts . Review and interpret legal clauses in government-issued tenders, bid documents, and procurement frameworks . Draft, vet, and redline master service agreements, empanelment contracts, purchase orders, and work orders issued by central/state government bodies and PSUs. Collaborate with senior stakeholders across legal, compliance, and business teams to enable government-sector pursuits. Independently represent Protiviti in contractual negotiations with government clients, ensuring alignment with legal, risk, and compliance frameworks. Monitor regulatory updates, including changes to public procurement laws and Digital Personal Data Protection Act (DPDP) or sectoral obligations applicable to government entities. Ensure timely and quality legal deliverables under strict government RFP submission timelines . Job Requirements 58 years of experience handling contracts and RFPs with government, PSU, or semi-government clients . In-depth understanding of public procurement norms , including General Financial Rules (GFR), CVC guidelines, and GeM framework. Experience supporting consulting, audit, or advisory services in public sector engagements is an added advantage. Proven ability to navigate regulatory and legal risk assessments within government environments. Ideal Exposure & Competencies Independent, self-driven legal thinker with the ability to lead under pressure. Deep curiosity and willingness to understand sector-specific government procurement models. Strong project management, multitasking, and organizational skills to handle multiple contracts and deadlines simultaneously . Excellent communication (verbal & written) and interpersonal skills to engage with internal and external stakeholders. Proficiency in MS Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Ideal Exposure & Competencies Ability to work independently and provide legal direction under tight submission deadlines. Willingness to understand sector-specific government procurement frameworks and service categories. Strong analytical, organizational, and project management skills, with the ability to juggle multiple RFPs and client contracts. Collaborative mindset with excellent interpersonal and cross-functional coordination skills. Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English (knowledge of Hindi or regional languages is a plus for govt liaison). Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Ability to work under pressure in time-sensitive government procurement cycles. Preferred candidate profile Demonstrated experience in reviewing and negotiating RFPs and contracts from central/state government departments, PSUs, or semi-government bodies . Familiarity with public procurement laws, CVC guidelines, and other compliance norms applicable to government contracts. Prior experience supporting consulting, audit, or advisory services in government sector is preferred. Comfort with regulatory environments and legal risk assessments in public sector engagements.
