Job Description

As a Cutting Operations Manager, you will be responsible for supervising the entire cutting process to ensure that cutting targets are met. You will plan and allocate work to cutters based on production requirements and monitor daily cutting operations for accuracy and efficiency. Your role will also involve ensuring proper fabric utilization to minimize wastage and control costs. Your responsibilities will include: - Developing and approving efficient marker plans to maximize fabric usage and meet costing consumption requirements - Working with the CAD team to create optimized markers for different fabric widths - Overseeing the plotting and cutting of markers to minimize wastage, shade variation, and fabric defects - Analyzing fabric consumption data and implementing strategies for cost-effective cutting You will also be responsible for quality control measures, such as inspecting fabric before cutting to identify defects and ensuring adherence to approved patterns and cutting markers to avoid rejections. Additionally, you will conduct random quality checks during and after cutting to identify errors early and work on process improvements to reduce errors. In terms of workforce and machine management, you will supervise and train cutting department workers to improve accuracy and efficiency. You will ensure proper handling and maintenance of cutting machines, as well as coordinate with the maintenance team for servicing and troubleshooting to avoid production delays. As a Cutting Operations Manager, you will identify and implement improvements in cutting methods to minimize defects and rework. You will maintain accurate records of fabric usage, wastage, and production output for continuous improvement. Furthermore, you will collaborate closely with other departments, such as merchandising and production teams, and the sewing department to ensure timely delivery of cut fabric with minimal defects. Required Skills & Competencies: - Strong technical knowledge of fabric types, cutting techniques, and marker planning - Experience with CAD software for marker making (e.g., Gerber, Lectra, Optitex) - Ability to analyze and optimize marker efficiency - Experience in identifying and reducing cutting defects and rejections - Excellent leadership and team management skills - Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities This is a full-time position with a day shift schedule. The ideal candidate should have a Bachelor's degree and at least 2 years of experience as a garment cutting supervisor. The work location is in person.,
