Tube Products of India, Avadi Role & responsibilities Responsible for ensuring robust quality systems and controls across the manufacturing processes and final inspection in a steel tube production environment. The role focuses on driving improvements in product quality, customer satisfaction, and compliance to customer and regulatory standards through strong process monitoring, audit management, and cross-functional collaboration. Quality Systems & Process Assurance: Ensure effective implementation of Quality Management Systems (QMS) across production lines, especially for forming, welding, sizing, and finishing processes in steel tube manufacturing. Conduct internal process and product audits to verify process control and product conformance. Drive compliance to ISO 9001, IATF 16949, and other relevant standards applicable to the tube manufacturing industry. Final Quality & Customer Assurance: Ensure final product inspection and conformance before dispatch. Coordinate and resolve customer complaints using structured problem-solving tools (8D, CAPA), ensuring permanent corrective actions. Improve customer satisfaction by reducing Customer PPM and enhancing quality ratings. Lead customer audits; ensure audit readiness and implement improvement action plans. Production Quality Monitoring: Monitor shift-wise process control activities, including weld integrity, dimensional accuracy, and surface finish. Analyze and reduce internal rejections and scrap generation. Identify and execute initiatives to reduce the cost of poor quality (COPQ). New Product Quality Support: Collaborate with NPD teams to support quality planning for new tube products and trials. Ensure smooth quality ramp-up and early defect detection during product introduction. Manage PPAP documentation and approvals for new and modified products. Training & Awareness: Conduct training programs for shop floor and quality personnel on customer-specific requirements, defect prevention, and past complaint learnings. Promote a quality-first culture across departments. Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with production, maintenance, and engineering teams to address quality gaps and enhance process robustness. Participate in continuous improvement projects and VA/VE initiatives to optimize quality and cost. Preferred candidate profile Experience in Process & Final/ customer quality from a manufacturing industry
