Job Area: Engineering Group, Engineering Group > Software Engineering General Summary: As a member of Qualcomm WIN Customer Engineering Team, candidate would be responsible for supporting the Qualcomm customers of Wifi6/Wifi7 Access Points/WLAN chipsets. Job responsibilities include end-to-end debugging and the log analysis of issues on various WLAN SoCs/chipsets that includes AP bring up, management and data path procedures, advance WLAN features, functional, performance and stability issues, troubleshooting of various networking and offload protocols, software and hardware issues. Candidate would collaborate with global teams and work closely with Customers, Software Development and Connectivity System Test teams worldwide to analyze, debug, resolve & propagate fixes for the product. Skills/Experience At least 2 -6 years of relevant hands-on technical experience in WLAN/Linux driver development/sustenance/support. C /C++ programming and debug experience Software development and System Architecture on ARM based Linux platforms. Software version control systems (such as GIT, Perforce etc.) for large scale software development. WLAN driver development experience is an added advantage. Able to travel abroad. Excellent communication skills. Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 2+ years of Software Engineering or related work experience. OR Master's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 1+ year of Software Engineering or related work experience. OR PhD in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field. 2+ years of academic or work experience with Programming Language such as C, C++, Java, Python, etc. Minimum Qualifications At least 2-6 years of relevant hands-on debugging experience in WLAN/Linux driver/firmware development with customer interaction. . Job Area: Engineering Group, Engineering Group > Software Applications Engineering General Summary: Good Experience with Programming Language such as C, C++, Java, Python, etc. 2. Good working knowledge on opensource projects handling . 3. Good understanding of Windows OS basics and internals . 4. Good debugging skills for embedded applications preferably on Windows OS. 5. Experience with Windows debug tools like Visual Studio, WinDBG, Event Viewer, PerfMon etc. 6. Good communication skills. Responsibilities:Candidate is expected to support customers in bringing up their application successfully on WoS platform and also help resolve any issues they report along the process. Candidate also would be involved in porting/enhancing applications for Snapdragon application. Candidate is expected to interact with various internal teams and represent Qualcomm in external forums, so communication skills and working with cross functional teams is an important skill required. Candidate needs to be hands-on and be ready to try out and research solution on his/her own with minimal dependency . Good Exposure to Windows OS internals and Open source projects is going to help in day-today activities greatly. Follows all IP guidelines. Able to diagnose and resolve basic technical problems. Understands and supports escalation plan. Supports seniors for Day-Day CM resolution. Seeks to learn and understand fundamental theories. Learns to read and understand circuit diagrams. To train / OJT in primary product and platform. Learns and applies diagnostic techniques and the use of documentation and test equipment with assistance from senior engineers. Develops the ability to represent Applied Materials to the customer. Uses good customer service skills at all times while maintaining a professional demeanor. Displays respect for the customer by maintaining an orderly work area. Complies with all safety procedures and consistently demonstrates safety as a value. Other Requirements: This is a physically demanding position that often requires extensive walking, standing for extended periods of time, working in tight spaces, bending, squatting, twisting, kneeling, reaching, climbing stairs and ladders, lifting up to 35 lbs., the ability to distinguish between colors, the ability to work in an environment with noise that may be difficult for some individuals with sensitivity to noise, and the use of hand and power tools. Additionally, because this position generally involves working in a clean room, it requires the use of appropriate Personal Protective Equipment such as coveralls, hoods, booties, safety glasses, gloves, respirators, chemical aprons, and face shields.
