Job description Role & responsibilities Freight Forwarders role: Traditionally it has been confined to arranging transport and preparing documentation as an agent of the shipper (importer or exporter depending on the INCOTERM). With development the role of the freight forwarder also started to change due to containerization and multimodal transportation, instead of acting only as an intermediary, some become transport operators offering container services, as well as multimodal inland and international transportation. Role & responsibilities The Import Procurement Officer is a critical position in our organization. This individual will be responsible for executing the import procurement process for materials and services both domestically and internationally, Especially EV related. Sourcing and Supplier Management: Identify and evaluate potential suppliers, negotiating contracts and terms of service. Develop and maintain strong relationships with international suppliers to ensure quality and timely delivery. Import Compliance: Ensure all imported goods comply with legal and regulatory requirements, including customs documentation and tariffs. Stay updated on changes in trade regulations and customs laws. Procurement Strategy: Develop and implement procurement strategies to optimize costs and improve supply chain efficiency. Analyze market trends and pricing to inform purchasing decisions. Inventory Management: Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with logistics to manage the flow of imported goods. Work closely with warehouse teams to ensure proper storage and handling of products. Cross-Department Collaboration: Collaborate with finance, logistics, and operations teams to ensure seamless procurement and delivery processes. Provide timely updates to stakeholders on procurement status and potential issues. Reporting and Analysis: Prepare and present reports on procurement metrics, supplier performance, and market trends.
