We are expanding our India-based engineering team and are looking for a highly skilled Full-Stack Developer with at least 5 years of hands-on experience in Node.js, TypeScript, and React. You will play a vital role in building secure, scalable, and efficient applications that integrate with NHS infrastructure and directly impact patient outcomes. Over time, there is the potential to relocate and work in our UK office (after 2 years, subject to performance and mutual agreement). Key Responsibilities 1. Full-Stack Development Design, develop, and maintain scalable web applications using Node.js (back-end), TypeScript, and React (front-end). Build and optimise responsive, accessible patient-facing portals and mobile-friendly web appsensuring seamless user journeys from appointment booking to teleconsultation. Contribute to API design and integration with third-party and NHS systems (e.g., FHIR APIs, EMIS, SystmOne). Ensure code quality through unit testing, code reviews, and documentation. 2. System Architecture & Performance Participate in architectural design discussions and propose scalable solutions for web and cloud infrastructure. Implement performance improvements, caching strategies, and real-time data flows. 3. DevOps & Deployment Work closely with DevOps to ensure CI/CD pipelines, containerisation (Docker), and cloud deployment (preferably AWS or Azure).[JV1] Monitor application health, logs, and performance using industry-standard tools. 4. Collaboration & Agile Delivery Collaborate with cross-functional teams including product managers, clinical leads, and UI/UX designers to translate requirements into reliable solutions. Participate in daily stand-ups, sprint planning, and retrospectives in an Agile Scrum environment. 5. Security & Compliance Ensure all code and services meet NHS data protection, cybersecurity, and GDPR standards. Assist in implementing secure authentication and data access controls. Key Skills & Attributes Minimum 5 years of professional experience in full-stack development. Advanced knowledge of Node.js, TypeScript, and React. Familiarity with GraphQL, REST APIs, and MongoDB/PostgreSQL. Strong experience in Git, CI/CD pipelines, and automated testing. Excellent problem-solving and debugging skills. High attention to detail, ability to work autonomously, and deliver quality code under tight deadlines. Experience working in healthcare tech or handling sensitive data is a strong plus. Qualifications Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field. Demonstrated track record of building and scaling production-ready web applications. Familiarity with NHS data standards (FHIR, SNOMED CT) is desirable but not essential . Employment Terms Three-month notice period for termination on either side. Role Overview Were looking for a hands-on Full-Stack Developer who thrives in code, not just concepts. This is a build-heavy role- ideal for someone who enjoys solving real-world problems through elegant, scalable software. You’ll work closely with our Head Engineer to design and develop secure, performant applications that integrate with NHS infrastructure. You’ll be expected to take ownership of features end-to-end, from system design to deployment. Note: This role is not suited to those seeking structured training or large teams.
