As a Backend API Test Engineer at HARMAN Connected Services, you will be a part of our innovative team working on cutting-edge solutions in the automotive sector. With 3-6 years of experience and expertise in backend API testing, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality and reliability of our products. Your key responsibilities will include designing and implementing automated tests for backend APIs using the BDD Cucumber framework, collaborating with cross-functional teams to identify testing requirements, developing and maintaining test automation frameworks, ensuring comprehensive API testing coverage, and troubleshooting and resolving testing issues. To excel in this role, you must possess proficiency in scripting languages such as Selenium and Cucumber/BDD, experience with API testing tools and techniques, familiarity with programming languages like Java, Python, and C++, the ability to design and implement test automation frameworks using tools like Selenium, TestNG, and Maven/Gradle, experience with version control systems like GitHub, Bitbucket, and TeamCity, excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, and expertise in white-box and black-box testing. Automotive experience is mandatory for this position. Preferred skills for this role include experience with Agile development methodologies, knowledge of database testing and data validation, and familiarity with cloud-based testing platforms.
