As a Process Chemist at FMC, situated in IIC Hyderabad, you will have a remarkable opportunity to apply your expertise in research and process development. Your key responsibilities will involve developing, optimizing, and scaling up chemical processes from lab experiments to pilot and production scales for both new compounds and existing products. It will be your duty to ensure that these processes are not only safe, efficient, and cost-effective but also environmentally sustainable, all while meeting quality and regulatory standards. The Role: - Develop and enhance chemical processes for new and current products. - Scale up processes from laboratory to pilot and full-scale production. - Collaborate with various teams including production, quality control, safety, and regulatory departments. - Adhere to safety and environmental guidelines. - Transition lab-created processes to manufacturing facilities and address any arising challenges. - Prepare comprehensive reports, batch records, and standard operating procedures (SOPs). - Operate and maintain laboratory equipment such as reactors, chillers, and other chemical processing apparatus. - Conduct intricate chemical reactions, including Chiral chemistry and multi-step synthesis like halogenation and pressure reactions. - Monitor analytical data during reactions using tools like NMR, IR, LC-MS, HPLC, GC, and GC-MS. - Identify and analyze impurities, employing purification, crystallization, and distillation methods. - Understand and regulate crucial process parameters to ensure consistent product quality. - Resolve production issues and enhance efficiency at diverse Tolling sites. - Provide on-site support at Toller sites for troubleshooting production challenges and ensuring consistency. The Candidate: - Holds a Master's degree in organic chemistry. - Possesses 10-12 years of experience in process development, R&D, and chemical manufacturing. - Demonstrates a profound understanding of organic synthesis and chemical engineering principles. - Previous experience in scale-up and pilot plant operations is advantageous. - Proficient in structural elucidation and interpretation using analytical techniques like NMR, IR, LC-MS, HPLC, GC, and GC-MS. - Familiarity with equipment such as TLC, Rota vapor, EYELA small-scale synthesizer, pressure reactors, etc. - Excellent documentation and report-writing abilities. - Capable of working independently and collaboratively within a team environment. - Skilled in multistep organic synthesis and custom Synthesis of molecules on varying scales. - Expertise in synthetic route optimization, process stabilization, validation, and determining critical process parameters. - Competent in identifying impurities, characterizing them, and employing crystallization techniques. - Proficient in technology transfer from R&D to plant-level toller site and troubleshooting. - Preference for candidates with experience in Agro/Speciality fine chemicals. - Willingness to travel to different Tolling sites.
