Job Title: Student Counsellor Location: Chennai 1. Initial Assessment & Guidance Understand the student’s academic background, financial status, and country preference. Assess visa eligibility based on course, country, and personal profile. Explain visa types, requirements, and timelines clearly to the student. 2. Document Verification & Preparation Guide students on required documents for the visa (e.g., SOP, financial documents, passport, academic records). Verify authenticity and completeness of documents. Ensure all documents meet the embassy or consulate’s standards. 3. Statement of Purpose (SOP) Support Assist the student in drafting a compelling SOP. Ensure the SOP aligns with the course, academic history, and career goals. Review and refine the SOP to meet embassy or high commission expectations. 4. Visa Application Filing Guide students through online or paper-based visa application forms. Create student profiles on relevant visa portals (e.g., IRCC for Canada, UKVI, etc.). Book biometric or visa appointment slots. 5. Liaising with Institutions and Authorities Coordinate with universities for issuance of visa letters like CAS (UK), LOA (Canada). Communicate with embassy/VFS/visa centres for updates or clarifications. 6. Tracking & Follow-Up Monitor visa status post-submission. Update students regularly on any changes or requests from the embassy. Assist in addressing additional document requests (ADR) or re-submissions. 8. Post-Visa Assistance Guide on passport stamping process, medicals (if applicable), and travel readiness. Provide orientation on pre-departure and travel requirements. 9. Compliance & Record-Keeping Maintain updated records of student files, submissions, and communications. Ensure data privacy and adherence to visa regulations and institutional guidelines. Essential Skills Required: Strong knowledge of country-specific visa rules Attention to detail and process compliance Good communication and counselling skills Familiarity with visa portals (IRCC, UKVI) Ability to handle pressure and deadlines Job Types: Full-time, Permanent Pay: ₹15,000.00 - ₹25,000.00 per month Benefits: Provident Fund Schedule: Day shift Work Location: In person
