The role of Associate Quality Assurance at Sterlite Electric involves overseeing all production activities in the mill to ensure the production of high-quality standard products with a high prime yield and meet customer satisfaction. Your primary responsibility will be to achieve production schedules according to the requirements of the marketing department. Your focus will be on optimizing resources, maintaining high standards of safety and quality, minimizing downtime by timely planning for pass changes, and ensuring the achievement of business objectives. Key responsibilities include ensuring that tests are conducted strictly as per standard test methods, maintaining technical validity of results, controlling calibration of test equipment and reference materials, conducting preventive maintenance of test equipment, estimating uncertainty in measurement, and ensuring the confidentiality of customer information and proprietary rights. You will also be responsible for carrying out periodic customer satisfaction surveys and analysis, participating in inter-lab comparisons and proficiency testing, conducting cross-checks, quality control checks, and repeatability tests, and initiating appropriate corrective actions in case of nonconforming test work or undesirable situations. Travel may be required as and when necessary.
