As a Cross Border Americas and Banking Controls - AVP at Barclays, you will play a crucial role in revolutionizing the digital offerings to ensure unparalleled customer experiences. Your key responsibilities will include: - Assessing the integrity and effectiveness of the bank's internal control framework to mitigate risks and protect operational, financial, and reputational risks. - Collaborating with stakeholders to improve control effectiveness through detailed documentation of assessments, procedures, and findings. - Identifying and investigating potential weaknesses within internal controls to drive continuous improvement and risk mitigation. - Developing reports to communicate key findings from risk assessments and recommendations to stakeholders. - Reviewing the effectiveness of the bank's internal controls framework against established policies, regulations, and best practices. - Implementing adherence to the Barclays Controls Framework and assessing controls against it. To be successful in this role, you should have: Basic/ Essential Qualifications: - Good understanding of Investment Banking Business. - Preferred Cross Border Investment Banking experience. - Strong controls knowledge. Desirable skillsets/ good to have: - Automation excellence. - Experience in contributing to/leading strategic projects. Additionally, you will be expected to: - Advise and influence decision making, contribute to policy development, and ensure operational effectiveness. - Lead a team performing complex tasks, set objectives, and coach employees towards achieving them. - Collaborate closely with other functions and business divisions. - Lead collaborative assignments and guide team members through structured tasks. - Identify ways to mitigate risks and develop new policies/procedures in support of the control and governance agenda. - Take ownership of managing risks and strengthening controls. - Engage in complex analysis of data from multiple sources to creatively solve problems. - Communicate complex information effectively and influence stakeholders to achieve desired outcomes.
