The Product Development & Agronomy Officer Seeds will be responsible for planning and executing on-farm seed trials, engaging with farmers and R&D partners, and supporting the evaluation and positioning of new seed varieties. The role is essential to introducing high-performing, adaptable seed products to diverse agro-climatic zones. Key Responsibilities: Plan and execute multi-location seed trials across targeted regions and crops. Maintain scientific protocols for trial design, crop observations, and yield evaluations. Coordinate with farmers, field staff, and institutional partners for timely trial execution. Conduct crop demonstrations and field days to showcase varietal performance. Compile trial data and performance summaries to support varietal selection and product launch. Provide technical training and support to internal teams and channel partners. Gather insights on farmer preferences, competitor seed products, and regional agronomic trends. Support the preparation of technical documents, crop guides, and field manuals. Required Qualifications: Bachelor's or Masters degree in Agriculture or a related field. Minimum 2-4 years of experience in seed trials, product development. Hands-on experience with field-level execution and farmer engagement. Key Competencies: Strong knowledge of crop agronomy and seed performance metrics. Ability to manage field activities, trials, and data collection independently. Effective communication and interpersonal skills, especially with farmers and rural stakeholders.
