The Mission: Architect Our Core AI Engine We are looking for a brilliant and pioneering AI Research Scientist to be the technical architect of our most defensible asset: our core AI validation engine. This is not a role for someone who simply applies existing models. This is a rare opportunity to design and build the core intellectual property of a deep-tech company from the ground up. Your mission will be to translate the most advanced concepts from academic research into a robust, scalable, and production-ready system that will define the new industry standard for data quality. You will own the technical vision for our validation cascade, building the AI agents that will serve as the heart of the Calaxis platform. You will be the "Architect" who draws the blueprints for our core technology, mentoring a passionate team of "Builders" and shaping the future of our company. What You Will Do: Architect and Build Our Core AI Validation Engine: Take full ownership of the design, development, and implementation of our foundational AI validators. This includes building models capable of: Ensuring compliance with complex regulatory and legal rules. Validating technical and mathematical accuracy in specialized documents. Interpreting and reasoning about multimodal data, including charts and graphs. Performing advanced quality assurance and using external tools to ground information against real-time data. Translate Research into Reality: Implement and innovate upon state-of-the-art AI frameworks. You will be working hands-on to build systems for: Multimodal visual understanding. Transparent and verifiable logical reasoning. Powerful, internet-enabled tool-using agents. Pioneer New Methodologies: Lead the implementation of novel training paradigms designed to instill deep domain expertise in our models, making them world-class validators. Build for Extensibility: Design a standardized framework that will allow Calaxis to rapidly develop and deploy new validation models for any future vertical our customers need. Develop the Customer-Facing Data Gatherer: Architect and build the AI agent that will empower our customers to automatically gather raw data from the internet, serving as the first step in the Calaxis pipeline. Collaborate and Mentor: Work closely with our MLOps and Engineering teams to integrate your models into our scalable PaaS. Act as a technical leader and mentor for our talented team, elevating the skills of the entire organization. Drive Innovation: Stay at the forefront of AI research, continuously identifying and prototyping new techniques that can enhance our platform and solidify our technical moat. Who You Are: The Expert We Need While modern LLMs are powerful tools, this role is not about using them; it's about architecting the novel systems they will inhabit. We are seeking an individual with the deep, first-principles understanding required to build what doesn't exist yet. Required Qualifications: A PhD in Computer Science, AI, NLP, or a related field, OR equivalent industry experience demonstrated by a strong portfolio of building novel AI systems from scratch. Proven, hands-on experience implementing complex model architectures from academic papers (e.g., Transformers, Vision-Language Models, Diffusion Models, Agentic Frameworks). Deep expertise in at least one of the following areas: Multimodal AI (Vision-Language Models), AI Agents (Tool-Use, Planning), or advanced NLP for specialized domains (e.g., legal, financial). Exceptional proficiency in Python and deep learning frameworks such as PyTorch or TensorFlow. A profound understanding of the entire machine learning lifecycle, from data preprocessing and advanced fine-tuning techniques (SFT, RLHF, DPO) to model evaluation and deployment. Strong software engineering fundamentals and the ability to write clean, scalable, production-grade code. Preferred Qualifications (Bonus Points): A track record of publications in top-tier AI conferences (e.g., NeurIPS, ICML, CVPR, ACL, ICLR). Direct experience implementing advanced AI frameworks for agentic tool-use, logical reasoning, or multimodal understanding. Experience building and deploying multi-agent AI systems.
