As the Creative Lead for Visual Design at Gravity iLabs, you will be responsible for building and leading our visual design and strategic communications capability. You will oversee a team of talented graphic designers, illustrators, and motion graphics designers, helping our clients communicate strategy through immersive and interactive ways across digital, print, video, installation, and AR/VR. The ideal candidate is a visionary leader with a strong background in visual design, content writing, and information modeling, and an understanding of business complexity.
Key Responsibilities:
- Leadership and Team Management: Lead, mentor, and manage a team of graphic designers, illustrators, and motion graphics designers. Foster a collaborative and innovative team culture that drives high-quality design work.
- Project Leadership & Delivery: Oversee the design and delivery of strategy visualization projects by:
- Understanding client requirements and contexts by asking the right questions and
- Work with large pools of client information to build clear, concise and usable information models that provide a big picture snapshot for executive consumption
- Leading the design team to translate information models into visually rich information experiences
- Provide clear direction to the creative team around creative and functional execution of end products to meet and exceed client expectations
- Strategic Communications: Build and enhance the strategic communications and visual design capability at Gravity iLabs, and produce compelling collateral to drive brand resonance and growth.
- Design Quality Assurance: Proactively build and define the iLabs delivery framework and playbooks, identifying and codifying opportunities to standardise ways of working to ensure the highest quality delivery.
- Culture & Innovation: Stay updated on the latest design methodologies, tools, and technologies. Encourage the team to experiment with new design approaches and incorporate innovative ideas into their work.
Experience:
- Bachelor s or Master s degree in Graphic Design, Visual Communications, or a related field.
- 10+ years of experience in visual design, with a proven track record of leading and managing design teams within consulting, or agency set ups.
- Strong portfolio showcasing high-quality design outputs across a variety of media.
- Prior experience in content writing, information modeling, and communication of complex concepts through visualizations, systems maps, and
- Excellent leadership, communication, and project management skills.
- Entrepreneurial mindset - Demonstrated ability to set-up and lead a design studio and develop a partnership network of design capabilities for project delivery
- Demonstrated ability to build a culture and environment for high quality design, experience design aesthetics and attention to detail.
- Experience in developing and maintaining brand guidelines and design standards.
- Proficiency in design software such as Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, After Effects) and other relevant tools
- Strong understanding of marketing, sales collateral, and internal communications design.
- Creative thinker with a passion for innovation and a keen eye for detail.
- Background working with Professional Services/Management Consulting organisations within a design capacity preferred.
