Job Description

Experience:

Roles & Responsibilities:

Provide emotional and psychological support to patients and their families during hospitalization.
Conduct counselling sessions for patients dealing with stress, trauma, chronic illnesses, or major procedures.
Guide patients and families through hospital processes, treatment adherence, and discharge-related concerns.
Identify socio-economic challenges faced by patients and connect them with NGO/government schemes, financial aid, or support services.
Support doctors, nurses, and patient care teams in addressing psychosocial needs of patients.
Handle grievance redressal sensitively and escalate when required.
Conduct awareness and educational sessions for patients on wellness, rehabilitation, lifestyle changes, and preventive health.
Document counselling sessions and maintain confidentiality of patient information.
Assist with patient feedback collection and work closely with the Patient Experience team to ensure service recovery.
Coordinate with multi-disciplinary teams (social workers, psychologists, doctors, nursing, and patient care advisors) to provide holistic care.
Engage in crisis intervention for emergency or critical cases (ICU, Oncology, Psychiatry, etc.).

Skills Required:

Excellent communication, empathy, and listening skills.
Ability to handle sensitive situations with confidentiality and compassion.
Knowledge of counselling techniques, mental health, and social work practices.
Problem-solving and conflict resolution abilities.
Comfort in working in a hospital environment with diverse patient populations.
