Prepare detailed cost estimates for sheet metal manufacturing projects, including material, labor, tooling, machine hours, and overheads.
*Develop accurate Bill of Materials (BOM) and maintain up-to-date cost databases for raw materials, labor, and production methods.
*Collaborate with the design engineering team to ensure designs are cost-effective and manufacturer, applying
*Create detailed cost breakdowns for each phase of the manufacturing process and communicate the financial impact of various design or process decisions to stakeholders.
*Provide cost forecasts for upcoming projects based on historical data, market trends, and manufacturing capacity.
*Work closely with the production, engineering, and finance teams to align cost estimates with manufacturing plans and project budgets.
*Communicate cost data clearly to stakeholders, including project managers, senior management, and clients, to support decision-making.
* Update and maintain databases for materials, processes, and labor to ensure estimates are as accurate as possible.
*Estimate material costs based on material type, thickness, quantity, and waste factors. Work closely with the procurement team to monitor material price fluctuations.
*Calculate labor costs based on the complexity of the design, manufacturing process, and required skill set
