You will be responsible for auditing and verifying all elements of style-wise costing within the apparel/textile industry. This includes fabric, trims, accessories, labor, overheads, and logistics. You will need to ensure the accuracy of pre-costing and post-costing calculations submitted by the merchandising or sourcing teams. It will be your responsibility to validate vendor cost sheets and compare them with internal benchmarks and past cost data. Additionally, you will need to cross-check the Bill of Materials (BOM) with actual consumption data from production and sampling. Your role will involve identifying any material wastage or over-costing issues that may arise. You will be required to analyze actual production data, such as cutting, stitching, and finishing, versus planned costs. This analysis will help in highlighting any inefficiencies or process deviations that may impact costs. Auditing purchase orders, vendor quotes, and invoice comparisons will also be part of your responsibilities. You will need to flag any discrepancies in negotiated versus actual procurement costs. Monitoring raw material usage versus consumption reports and auditing dead stock, rejections, and quality returns will be crucial in your role. This will help in identifying any factors affecting costs related to inventory and wastage. Maintaining audit trails for all costing components and preparing detailed cost audit reports with observations and recommendations will be essential tasks for you. Preferred industry exposure includes experience in Knitwear, Woven, Denim, Export houses, or Retail apparel brands. This full-time role requires a candidate with a minimum of 8-10 years of experience in garment costing or cost auditing within the apparel/textile industry and a graduation qualification. To apply for this position, you should have experience in garment costing or cost auditing, worked on style-wise costing including fabric, trims, and labor components, audited Bill of Materials (BOM) against actual consumption, familiar with pre-costing and post-costing analysis, working knowledge of garment production processes (cutting, stitching, finishing), and comfortable auditing vendor purchase orders, invoices, and price sheets.
