At ORBCOMM, we re seeking a results-driven Strategic Sourcing Manager to play a key role in managing New Product Introduction (NPI) and transition projects with our EMS (Electronics Manufacturing Services) suppliers. What You ll Do: Lead the EMS supplier quote, selection, and award process. Manage the commercial aspects of NPI sourcing projects, ensuring accountability for phase gate deliverables. Source competitively priced BOMs, tooling, compliance, samples, and design services. Negotiate and implement supplier agreements, including development supply agreements, SOWs, and pull system agreements. Drive cost-cutting initiatives such as rapid replenishment programs (VMI or consignment). Perform should-cost and should-take analytics to ensure best marketplace value. Establish and manage aggressive cost-reduction programs. Develop and maintain KPIs to track supplier and sourcing performance trends. Lead cross-functional teams on supplier audits and capability assessments. Build and foster strong supplier relationships to drive long-term value. Engage in early supplier involvement to influence product design. Collaborate with internal stakeholders including sourcing, forecasting, engineering, and operations to drive strategy. Prepare analysis and recommendations for senior leaders through data-driven insights and presentations. Lead the development and maintenance of the preferred supplier list. Manage day-to-day sourcing activities, with occasional international and domestic travel. Who You Are: You re a strategic thinker with a knack for operational excellence, ready to tackle multiple priorities with agility and grace. If you have: Education & Experience: Bachelor s degree in Supply Chain, Operations, Business, or Engineering. 10+ years of progressive supply chain experience. Experience working with EMS suppliers and contract manufacturers. Proven international sourcing and travel experience. Green Belt certification. Preferred: Advanced degree (MBA preferred). Professional certification in sourcing management (CPM/CPSM, APICS). Broad sourcing experience in mechanical, electro-mechanical, and electronics. Skills & Competencies: Strong business acumen with a high attention to detail. Excellent contract negotiation and precise written communication skills. Ability to lead and influence global cross-functional teams. Strong problem-solving and data analysis capabilities, including Excel proficiency.
