The Associate will be responsible for ensuring timely and cost-effective settlement of security transactions and related products. The role involves resolving reconciliation breaks, mitigating operational risks, and maintaining effective communication with clients, brokers, counterparties, and internal stakeholders to ensure smooth trade settlements. Key Responsibilities Settlement of Securities Transactions Ensure all trades are instructed, matched, and settled on time. Monitor and minimize trade fails through pair-offs, partial deliveries, and proactive follow-ups. Conduct daily trade pre-matching and manage cash requirements for funding trades. Nostro and Depot Reconciliation Investigate and resolve nostro and depot reconciliation breaks promptly. Post necessary entries in Calypso to clear outstanding items. Address and resolve accounting breaks raised by control and accounting teams. Escalate items that pose operational risk to management in a timely manner. Risk and Cost Mitigation Ensure compliance with operational and regulatory policies to mitigate risk. Monitor market risks (e.g., buy-ins) and take corrective actions. Improve Straight-Through Processing (STP) rates to reduce costs. Reduce manual interventions and settlement risks by updating static data and minimizing manual instructions. Escalate potential operational risks through proper channels. Collaboration and Stakeholder Management Build and maintain strong relationships with traders, sales teams, domestic agents, and custodians. Collaborate with other operational departments as needed. Keep managers informed of potential problems or issues. Skills & Competencies Strong analytical, organizational, and reporting skills. Flexibility to adapt to changing international environments. Ability to work under pressure with rigor and attention to detail. Diligence in following procedures and compliance rules. Knowledge of financial markets and products. Proficiency in MS Excel. Strong communication skills (oral and written). Fluency in English . Experience & Qualifications Education: Bachelors Degree or equivalent. Experience: Minimum 1 - 2 years of relevant experience in Securities Settlements or Capital Markets Operations. Other: Exposure to Calypso or similar trade settlement systems preferred.
