As an experienced Solar PV Design Engineer, you should possess a solid understanding of the National Electrical Code (NEC, USA) and be well-versed in the Residential Solar & Energy Storage Code requirements of cities in the Bay Area, California. With a minimum of 6 years of expertise in generating both Residential and Commercial Solar PV Designs, you are expected to hold relevant solar certifications. Your role will require you to be self-directed, self-motivated, and a collaborative team player. Proficiency in utilizing AutoCAD 2012 or newer, along with a working knowledge of Microsoft Office tools (Excel, Word), Adobe, Helioscope, PVSyst, Arora, and other Solar Software tools is essential. Excellent communication and presentation skills, coupled with the ability to engage with customers effectively, are key attributes for this position. In this role, you will be responsible for reviewing Site survey forms and providing prompt feedback to the Site survey team for each project. Your tasks will involve planning, designing, and executing Energy storage and solar energy projects, ranging from residential & commercial installations to large-scale municipal projects. Additionally, you will be expected to manage multiple projects, support Project Management, and ensure effective time management. Your duties will also include preparing Energy storage and Solar PV Residential Permit plans, conducting shade studies, and performing energy production calculations using PVsyst and Helioscope software. Familiarity with Enphase, Tesla, and Solar Edge system monitoring software is advantageous. You will be accountable for verifying the accuracy and completeness of drawings, making necessary changes, and ensuring compliance with design requirements. Furthermore, you will collaborate with installation/field teams, manufacturers, Utilities, and City/AHJ for technical support. Your role will involve providing service call support for solar PV and ESS systems, interacting with various stakeholders to ensure work completion, and offering assistance in Asset Management. Please note that candidates lacking relevant US Residential & Commercial PV Design experience will not be considered for this position. References will be required for verification of previous employment. Compensation will be determined based on experience, design accuracy, independent work capability, ownership, accountability, and market benchmarking.
