This role involves hands-on preventive and corrective maintenance , upkeep of equipment, managing spares, and ensuring smooth and safe functioning of factory operations with minimum downtime. Key Responsibilities Carry out periodical and preventive maintenance of machines, utilities, and equipment. Perform immediate repair and troubleshooting in case of breakdowns to reduce downtime. Maintain proper stock of spares, tools, and consumables required for maintenance jobs. Record and update AMC details, vendor contacts, and service history . Coordinate with production supervisors to plan maintenance activities without disturbing production. Ensure calibration and accuracy of measuring instruments and gauges. Maintain daily maintenance logs, breakdown registers, and service reports . Monitor basic energy consumption (fuel, power, water) and report abnormalities. Follow safety practices and compliance requirements during maintenance jobs. Ensure proper housekeeping and 5S practices in maintenance and shop floor areas. Support in installation and commissioning of new machines or equipment when required. Qualifications & Experience ITI / Diploma in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering. 35 years of hands-on experience in factory or plant maintenance. Prior experience in the chemical manufacturing industry will be an added advantage. Practical knowledge of mechanical and electrical troubleshooting in manufacturing equipment. Exposure to preventive maintenance schedules and safety practices . Skills Required Strong troubleshooting ability and problem-solving mindset. Ability to work independently with limited supervision.
