Summary :- We are looking for a Senior Plating Engineer with strong technical expertise in surface treatment and plating operations. This role is responsible for driving process optimization, quality assurance, and innovation in plating technologies. The ideal candidate will lead initiatives in process stability, troubleshooting, team mentoring, and compliance with customer and regulatory requirements. Role & responsibilities : Lead and oversee plating processes including electroplating (zinc, nickel, chrome), electroless plating, and conversion coatings. Ensure process capability, repeatability, and compliance with quality standards (IATF 16949, ISO 9001). Troubleshoot and resolve plating defects (e.g., discoloration, adhesion failure, uneven thickness) through root cause analysis and corrective actions. Optimize plating parameters to reduce cost, improve yield, and increase throughput without compromising on quality. Coordinate with design, production, and quality teams during new product development (NPD) and process validation (PPAP). Monitor chemical baths, analyze bath composition, and ensure proper chemical maintenance using lab techniques (titration, Hull cell testing, etc.). Develop and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs), work instructions, and control plans. Mentor and train junior engineers, operators, and technical staff on best practices and safety protocols. Collaborate with external vendors and internal stakeholders for process audits, equipment maintenance, and plating material procurement. Ensure environmental, health, and safety (EHS) compliance related to waste management, fume extraction, and chemical handling.
