Job Description

As a Support Engineer on the Corporate Technology Support team, your role will involve focusing on day-to-day application support functions within various functional areas such as Treasury, Middle Office, Operations, Finance, and Compliance. Your primary responsibility will be to ensure production stability and provide top-notch support to users. Additionally, you will have the opportunity to work on automation projects and be exposed to efforts to enhance the firm's capabilities in the cloud, primarily AWS. Collaboration with the development team is key to ensuring a stable and resilient environment, as well as timely delivery of new features and functionality. **Key Responsibilities:** - Work collaboratively with a team of experienced technologists to support applications in functional areas like Middle Office, Back Office, and Treasury. - Assist in operational tasks including day-to-day support, incident and problem management, and deployment of application releases. - Participate in process improvement and automation initiatives to enhance efficiency. - Collaborate with development teams and utilize various DevOps tools such as TeamCity, Jenkins, GitHub, Octopus, and Confluence. - Communicate effectively with senior management during outages and take ownership of drafting communication, including post mortem reports. - Drive outage calls, engage stakeholders, and ensure timely resolution of issues. **Qualifications/Skills Required:** - Degree or Postgraduate holder in Computer Science/Engineering or related field with a minimum of 6 years of experience. - Proficiency in supporting both Windows and Unix/Linux environments, with a strong comfort level in UNIX. - Mandatory knowledge of Cloud/AWS technologies such as EKS, EC2, and Clusters, with a minimum of 4 years of hands-on experience. - Experience in production support or Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) is a plus. - Strong problem-solving and analytical skills. - Ability to quickly learn and adapt to new concepts. - Excellent written and verbal communication skills. - Demonstrated commitment, ownership, and a proactive work ethic. - Strong team player with the ability to work independently and energetically.
