Job Summary: The Equipment Erection Engineer is responsible for planning, supervising, and executing the erection and alignment of static and rotary equipment at a refinery construction site. The role ensures that all activities are performed in accordance with engineering drawings, manufacturer guidelines, safety regulations, and project specifications. Key Responsibilities: Execution of Erection Activities : Oversee and supervise the erection of static equipment (e.g., pressure vessels, heat exchangers, columns, tanks) and rotary equipment (e.g., pumps, compressors, turbines). Ensure accurate alignment, grouting, and foundation preparation in compliance with OEM and engineering specifications. Planning & Scheduling : Develop detailed erection plans and schedules in coordination with the planning team. Monitor equipment arrival, unloading, and storage as per best practices and vendor guidelines. Inspection & Quality Control : Coordinate with QA/QC for stage-wise inspection and final clearance of erection works. Review equipment drawings, foundation drawings, and vendor manuals to ensure proper implementation. Interface Management : Collaborate with civil, piping, electrical, and instrumentation teams to ensure smooth progress of erection and inter-disciplinary coordination. Contractor & Team Supervision : Supervise contractor activities, provide technical guidance, and ensure adherence to project timelines and safety practices. Safety Management : Ensure all lifting and erection activities are carried out with approved rigging plans and lifting tools. Enforce compliance with refinery HSE standards and participate in toolbox talks and safety audits. Documentation & Reporting : Maintain daily progress reports, equipment checklists, alignment records, and handover documents. Support in preparation of mechanical completion and commissioning dossiers. Qualifications & Experience: Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent. 815 years of experience in heavy equipment erection, preferably in refinery or oil & gas projects. Experience in handling large-capacity equipment and critical alignments. Knowledge of ASME, API, and manufacturer standards. Skills Required: Proficiency in reading equipment GA drawings, foundation layouts, and alignment procedures. Strong leadership and coordination abilities.
