The purpose of this role is to oversee the financial aspects of trading activities, ensuring accuracy and integrity of the bank's trading book, compliance with regulatory requirements, and providing insights into trading performance. Key accountabilities include reconciliation of daily profit and loss (P&L) figures for trading desks, support in identification and mitigation of trading risks, maintenance and analysis of the bank's trading data, preparation and submission of regulatory reports, effective communication of complex financial information, and cross-functional collaboration to ensure a coordinated approach to trading activities. As an Assistant Vice President, you are expected to advise and influence decision-making, contribute to policy development, take responsibility for operational effectiveness, collaborate closely with other functions/business divisions, lead a team performing complex tasks, set objectives, coach employees, appraise performance, and demonstrate leadership behaviours. For an individual contributor, they will lead collaborative assignments, guide team members, consult on complex issues, identify ways to mitigate risk, take ownership of managing risk, collaborate with other areas of work, engage in complex analysis of data, and communicate complex information effectively. Proven skills in identifying and resolving control issues impacting financial results. Preferred Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills: Knowledge of Python is a plus.
