We are seeking a Senior Technical Writer to join our team on a remote basis, with quarterly visits to our Bangalore office. The primary responsibility of this role is to design, create, and maintain online end-user help and documentation for our software products. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 7-8 years of experience and a strong background in software industry documentation. Key Responsibilities Documentation Creation & Management : Effectively design, create, and maintain online end-user help, including user guides, reference guides, installation guides, and other technical documentation. You will also be responsible for creating and managing video training materials. Collaboration & Information Gathering : Collect information on upcoming product releases from the product management and development teams. You'll need to work across multiple agile teams and conduct regular documentation review meetings with key stakeholders. Continuous Improvement : Stay up-to-date with the latest documentation trends and technologies to continuously improve the quality of the content we provide to customers. You will also contribute to the Support knowledge base by creating and updating articles. Content Review : Assist colleagues in the marketing department by reviewing a variety of documents, including newsletters, white papers, and reports. Project Management : Manage your work progress and backlog, providing accurate and timely feedback to your manager. This includes handling the pressure of deadlines and overseeing the translation of documentation deliverables. Required Qualifications Experience : A minimum of 7-8 years of experience in technical writing, preferably within the software industry. Education : A Bachelor's or Master's degree. Technical Skills : Knowledge of the DITA XML standard and related documentation tools. Proficiency with image editing and illustration software like Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Illustrator . Experience in creating video-based help is a plus. Soft Skills : Strong analytical skills to create documentation from diverse and complex source documents (e.g., specifications, user stories, and support calls). Strong project management skills and the ability to work closely with multiple, possibly remote, development teams. Insight into user experience best practices and the readiness to flag them to product management when needed.
