Consultant (Technical assistance Agronomy)

As a Consultant (Technical assistance Agronomy) Part Time with an agronomy background at The International Potato Center (CIP), your role involves supporting various activities related to the introduction of PZTM in Odisha. Your responsibilities include: - Supporting the organization of farmer field days during planting and harvesting in three locations in November - Conducting field monitoring of 30 farmers" plots from November to January, with visits scheduled every two weeks - Collecting data from 30 farmers" plots during the harvesting period - Performing basic data analysis on the collected information from farmers" plots - Communicating with farmers via phone or in-person regarding administrative and technical matters The International Potato Center (CIP) is a global, non-profit research organization dedicated to improving food security, nutrition, and incomes in developing countries through research and innovation in root and tuber crops, focusing primarily on potatoes and sweet potatoes. CIP's strategic priorities include crop improvement, sustainable farming practices, nutrition, and food systems enhancement, as well as strengthening value chains and market access for smallholder farmers while enhancing climate resilience. Please note that this role requires close monitoring and supervision due to it being the first formal introduction of PZTM in Odisha.
