As a legal advisor, your primary responsibility will be reviewing and negotiating consultancy agreements and various ancillary documentation like collateral warranties, bid and performance bonds, guarantees, novations, reliance letters, non-disclosure agreements, letters of intent, and sub-consultancy agreements. You should be capable of independently reviewing these documents with minimal supervision, having a sound understanding of industry standard forms such as NEC, and preferably experience in contracting with overseas entities. Additionally, you will assist senior team members in analyzing more complex documents like joint venture agreements, teaming agreements, and framework contracts. Communication with internal engineering disciplines, bid teams, project directors, and other support functions will be crucial. You must have the ability to explain legal concepts affecting the business clearly and concisely to internal stakeholders. Efficiently managing the contract review process to minimize any adverse effects on the working capital of WSP is also part of your role. Providing advice on contract and construction law, ensuring adherence to corporate governance during contract reviews and approvals, managing DocuSign signing processes, and offering guidance on tender documents to mitigate risks and enhance competitiveness are essential tasks. Moreover, you will be responsible for ensuring consistency between contractual risk positions and insurance coverage, collaborating with the Insurance Manager or insurance brokers when necessary.
