The ideal candidate will be responsible for perform various job duties based on the size of the heating and cooling projects they work on, the type of property where systems are needed, and the heating and cooling needs of clients. The candidate must have a strong understanding of HVAC engineering principles and the ability to work collaboratively with other engineering disciplines. Key Responsibilities: 1. Calculate Heating and Cooling Needs: Conduct load calculations to determine heating and cooling requirements for different spaces and equipment. 2. Interpret and Draft Plans: Read and interpret construction plans, schematics, and blueprints to design HVAC systems. Prepare detailed drawings and schematics for ductwork and piping systems. 3. Calculate Ventilation Requirements: Determine ventilation needs and design systems accordingly, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards. 4. Determine Budget Costs: Estimate costs for HVAC systems and equipment, preparing comprehensive budget proposals for clients. 5. Coordinate with Others: Collaborate closely with architects, engineers, and other stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle to ensure seamless integration of HVAC systems with overall building design. 6. Adhere to Building Codes: Ensure all designs and installations comply with relevant building codes, regulations, and standards. Obtain necessary permits as required. Skills and Qualifications: Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.. Strong mathematical skills for precise calculations and analysis. Excellent communication skills for interacting with clients, team members, and stakeholders. Mechanical aptitude and proficiency in HVAC design software (AutoCAD, Revit, etc.). This role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the success of various kinds of HVAC systems across the sectors by leading and executing HVAC design efforts. Role & responsibilities 1. HVAC System Design: Lead the design and development of HVAC systems with all designs are compliant with relevant codes, standards, and regulations. 2. Technical Expertise: Apply deep knowledge of HVAC engineering principles and practices to provide innovative and efficient HVAC design solutions. 3. Project Leadership: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including mechanical engineers, electrical engineers, and project managers, to ensure seamless integration of HVAC systems. 4. Feasibility Studies: Participate in feasibility studies to evaluate HVAC system requirements and provide expert insights to guide project decision-making. 5. Equipment Selection: Select appropriate HVAC equipment, components, and materials based on project requirements, performance criteria, and cost-effectiveness. 6. Simulation and Analysis: Utilize advanced HVAC simulation tools and software to perform system analysis, energy modeling, and thermal load calculations to optimize HVAC system performance. 7. Quality Assurance: Oversee the review and approval of HVAC design deliverables, including drawings, specifications, and calculations, to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with project requirements. 8. Client Interaction: Act as a technical point of contact for clients, addressing their questions, concerns, and feedback related to HVAC design aspects of power plant projects. 9. Risk Management: Identify potential risks and challenges related to HVAC design, develop mitigation strategies, and ensure that all design solutions are aligned with safety and environmental standards. Preferred candidate profile 1. bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or related field. Master's degree is a plus. 2. 5-10 years of progressive experience in HVAC system design 3. Professional Engineer (PE) licensure is preferred. 4. Proficiency in HVAC design software and simulation tools (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, TRACE 700, etc.). 5. Thorough understanding of relevant codes and standards (ASHRAE, NFPA, etc.). 6. Strong project management skills and experience leading cross-functional teams. 7. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with clients and internal stakeholders. 8. Demonstrated track record of successful HVAC system design implementations within power plant projects. 9. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. 10.
