Product knowledge on centrifugal compressor is added advantage. Able to demonstrate good computer skills and be familiar with cad modelling along with GD&T, FEA, programming. Able to work in experienced people team giving an active contribution to the design and decision-making process. Have an open approach to problem solving and expanding the current theory to fill the gaps. Have experience and background in manufacturing/reliability/material science is a plus. Have basic knowledge of manufacturing processes such as casting, machining, welding or cutting etc is a plus. As a Proposals Engineer/Manager – Compressors India, you needto evaluate customer requirements and develop most competitive & complete techno-commercial offer which is aligned to Win the order and meet the company’s strategic goals. Preparation of clear and definitive technical and commercial proposals in accordance with defined scopes of supply. Making calculations for compressor sizing / selection and for peripherals to develop the basic design and engineering of all process equipment and utility systems to accomplish the specific process objectives. Co-ordinate the proposal process between Sales, Supply Chain and various internal functional departments and manage responses in line with the proposal schedule and customer requirements. Support Procurement during supplier negotiations to attain competitive pricing and maximise quote performance Evaluate competitive bids for equipment in order to provide cost effective solutions considering mechanics, electrical, instrumentation, control and piping systems. Identify all national and international codes and standards applicable to a specific project and ensure their utilisation to meet project requirements. Review, in conjunction with various functional departments, enquiry documents and obtain clarifications where required to ensure that company design standards and customer specifications are maintained. Have appreciation of heat and material balance, process flow diagrams, piping and instrument diagrams, system design parameters, and design or rating of equipment and apparatus such as heat exchangers, pumps, vessels, instruments etc. ensuring compliance with project specs. Attend Technical Clarification Meetings with customers and sub-contractors when required to clarify any technical issues and meet customer needs. Experience with compressors Reciprocating / Centrifugal / Screw / Blowers / Fans or equivalent equipment Knowledge of process design techniques and interpretation of results into mechanical equipment details related to processes, compressors, auxiliary systems and peripherals Application of product specific software tools e.g. compressor selection tool, process simulation tool, and ERP, CAD Inventor, CAD Plan 3D, Vault Pro.
