Compressor Engineer

Position Purpose

The Compressor Engineer is responsible for the technical support of Sales and REE Auditor for generating a solution proposal, being the contact point for failure and root-cause analysis. He/she is responsible for developing, engineering and design of compressor components and upgrades, always in alignment with the regional and global strategy. He/she defines global standards with respect to compressor upgrades and compressor components when being in a global role or part of a global engineering team.

Role description:

• Works mainly in the quotation/order process for compressor products and compressor upgrading projects.
• Creates product specifications and instructions using HOERBIGER standard software tools and formats, such as ESM/ITKK and forwards them to the Design/Drafting for drawing and material master/part creation.
• Provides technical assistance to interpret, analyze and resolve manufacturing and field operating problems.
• Prepares reports, maintains records and reference data in standard formats
• Providing technical analysis and reports for root-cause analysis, field service support and customer offerings.
• Execution of Monitoring Service on customer machines
• Execution of parts measurement on non-HOERBIGER parts and support.
• Definition of technical specifications for non-HOERBIGER purchase material.
• Support of Sales department with customer offer definition for compressor upgrades.
• Support of Purchasing department by preparing technical quotations for non-core components and capital parts.
• Presentation & Communication: Speaks and represents HOERBIGER in front of customers engineers in case of technical alignment meetings and failure analysis. Communicates and aligns technical details with the workshop, sales and purchasing department.
• Product Know How: Understands entire product portfolio, exhibits a deep knowledge about compressor design and function as well as a general knowledge about equipment types. Capable to engineer core/non-core components and capital parts for upgrades.
• Systems and Tools: MS Office, Lotus, SAP, ESM, ITKK, CSim.
• Foreign Language: English to participate in customer meetings, global discussions, knowledge exchange, trainings, etc..
