Are you passionate about solving challenging chemistry problems? Turing is looking for PhD-level researchers in Chemistry to test the reasoning capabilities of large language models (LLMs). You’ll create Chemistry problems, analyze model responses, and identify gaps in logic or understanding. You’ll create chemistry problems, review how the AI solves them, and share insights on how well it understands complex reasoning and logical steps. You’ll take on tasks such as: A coal gasifier operating at high temperature uses a feed of steam and air to produce synthesis gas from pure carbon. Given the feed composition and operating conditions, calculate the equilibrium concentration of a specific gas in the output stream at 1000 K. Two elementary gas-phase reactions occur in a plug flow reactor with stoichiometric feed and known operating and coolant conditions. Develop a reactor model to estimate the maximum temperature reached, assuming constant external coolant temperature. Eligibility: Currently enrolled in or have completed a Ph.D. or Postdoctoral in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Biochemistry, or a related field.
