Title: Senior Mainframe Migration Professional with JAVA Experience Experience Range: 18 to 25 years Position Type : Full-time Location : Pune will be preferred or any location Key responsibilities may include: Primary Responsibility Collaborate with our current COE in Italy and US to understand LIBER M product offerings, solutions and delivery execution to build a COE in India. The COE will compliment Italy and US product development and project delivery Need to be able to recruit, coach and guide the team for a timely development of COE in India Flexibility to travel to client locations and our other COE centers as needed Architecture Design: Leading the product roadmap development, release cycle developments, design, implementation of LiberM product suite Technical Leadership: The ability to be customer front and have executive communication skills while being able to get hands-on as needed. Guiding development teams at Pune on best practices, code quality, and technical decision-making, acting as a subject matter expert for Java technologies. Complex Problem Solving: Independently analyzing and resolving intricate technical challenges related to Java application development and optimization. Code Review and Mentoring: Reviewing code for quality, maintainability, and adherence to standards, providing mentorship and guidance to junior developers. Performance Optimization: Identifying and resolving performance bottlenecks in Java applications, optimizing database queries, and implementing caching strategies. Required Skills and Experience: Mainframe Migration Expertise: Has to have experience with at least one full end to end mainframe migration project. Must have a deep understanding for assessment for mainframe migration projects Core Java Expertise: Deep understanding of core Java/J2EE programming concepts like OOP, concurrency, collections, multithreading, and exception handling. Willing to guide and coach mid and junior level Java developers located onsite and remotely. Working knowledge with Bitbucket, Eclipse. Java Frameworks: Experience in JSP Servlets, Eclipse UI, Microservices, JSF 2.0, Spring/Spring Boot, Maven, Hibernate, Junit. JBOSS Application server, Transaction server Mainframe Skills . Deep understanding of all Vanilla Mainframe ZOS concepts and technologies (COBOL, CICS, JCL, VSAM, DB2, IMS, Assembler). Understanding or experience with Microfocus or Unikix products is a plus Experience in other mainframe products typically installed for operational support Database Management: Expertise in working with relational databases like DB2, MySQL, PostgresSQL and proficiency in SQL query optimization. Expertise in handling projects involving database performance optimization Cloud Computing: Certifications or at least 2 years of project experience with cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or GCP and experience with cloud-native development practices. Design Patterns: Ability to apply appropriate design patterns to create maintainable and scalable code. Testing and Debugging: Strong knowledge/experience in leading Mainframe migration testing (Approach, methodology and execution) Strong experience in unit testing (JUnit), integration testing, and debugging of migrated Java applications. Continuous Integration/Delivery (CI/CD): Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and tools for automated testing and deployment Nice to have Linux Shell Scripting knowledge preferred C/C++ language knowledge preferred Extensive experience in building and consuming RESTful APIs using technologies like Jersey, Spring REST, or similar.
