We are currently seeking a Valuation Services Director with a focus on Complex Financial Instruments (CFI) to join our Valuation Team. This role offers the opportunity to engage in diverse and challenging projects involving financial analysis, business and financial modeling and forecasting, and valuations specifically concentrating on various complex financial instruments and derivatives. These include convertible instruments, embedded derivatives, earn-outs, interest rate derivatives, common and preferred stock, private debt instruments, options, warrants, and other derivative products. Our services aim to support clients in areas such as mergers, acquisitions, venture financing, public offerings (IPOs), taxation planning and compliance, financial reporting, and strategic planning, as well as cater to the needs of assurance and tax clients. **Overall Responsibilities:** - Establish and maintain an effective sales and marketing process within the Valuation practice area - Maintain a referral network and engage with peers in different markets and areas of assurance, tax, and business consulting - Provide thought leadership in the practice area - Act as the primary advisor to clients and manage the CFI engagement team members - Oversee, train, and develop other CFI valuation professionals **Specific Responsibilities:** - Develop and nurture strong relationships with centers of influence and professionals - Manage client relationships effectively to ensure high levels of client satisfaction - Handle the fundamentals of the practice area including realization, utilization, leverage, accounts receivable, and expenses - Serve as a thought leader and mentor to staff - Integrate the firm's strategy successfully - Enhance the RSM brand through thought leadership and support of marketing campaigns - Encourage cross-selling and integration of service lines **Basic Qualifications:** - Bachelor's Degree in a Quantitative Field preferred; MBA or other Masters a plus - Professional Certifications such as ABV/CPA, ASA, or CFA - Experience in valuing complex financial instruments - Proficiency in Option Pricing Models, Monte Carlo and Binomial Models - Familiarity with Monte Carlo programs, coding, Bloomberg, etc. - Strong experience in practice development, management, marketing, and thought leadership related to complex financial instruments - Demonstrated ability to manage client relationships and sell firm solutions - Minimum 8 years of Management/Leadership/Supervisory experience - Database experience with Capital IQ and proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint - Willingness to travel to clients and other RSM offices - Ability to work independently, analyze financial data, and identify relevant issues effectively RSM offers a competitive benefits and compensation package, providing flexibility in your schedule to help you balance life's demands while serving clients. The Director will be expected to develop strong relationships with professionals, manage client relationships, mentor and train staff, integrate firm strategies, promote thought leadership, and enhance the RSM brand. Basic qualifications for this position include a Bachelor's Degree in a Quantitative Field (such as Math, Financial Mathematics, or Quantitative Finance), preferred professional certifications (ABV/CPA, ASA, or CFA), experience in valuing complex financial instruments, proficiency in Option Pricing Models, Monte Carlo and Binomial Models, Monte Carlo programs, coding, practice development and management, and more. The successful candidate should have experience in managing client relationships, developing business, and working in a large consulting or accounting firm environment.
