As a Technical Project Engineer at Hitachi Energy, you will focus on a variety of engineering disciplines including electrical, mechanical, chemical, civil, structural, automation, and software engineering. Your responsibilities will encompass discipline engineering and design, planning, risk assessments, and coordination of resources such as personnel and equipment. Your key areas of responsibility will include ensuring the development of engineering with complete information, leading the development of new solutions for complex projects, driving the completion of all engineering activities on the project, coordinating engineering disciplines across multiple projects, providing technical support for testing, installation, and commissioning activities. You will also be involved in designing and conducting experiments, analyzing and interpreting data, preparing comprehensive project documents in your area of responsibility, and may act as a design authority for a specific engineering discipline. Your role will involve providing cost-effective quality solutions and delivering within budget and contract requirements, while ensuring adherence to safety standards and mitigation of potential risks. You will be responsible for creating work plans and cost estimates, as well as reviewing and approving scope, budget, and schedule for assignments. Additionally, you will interact directly with customers, officials, contractors, and the supply chain. As an Experienced Professional (P2) in this role, you will apply practical knowledge of the job area typically obtained through advanced education and work experience. You will work independently with general supervision, facing difficult challenges that are typically not complex. You may influence others within the job area through the explanation of facts, policies, and practices. As a Senior Engineer, you will be responsible for the preliminary and detail design of process mechanical systems associated with municipal and industrial water and/or wastewater treatment facilities and pump stations. You will work independently as well as with a team on various projects in line with client requirements. Additionally, you will lead and supervise the design team to ensure the project is delivered with high quality within the program and budget. Your role will also involve liaising with the lead region to demonstrate an understanding of scope, knowledge, and experience to provide innovative design solutions as per best engineering practices. Collaboration with other design disciplines will be essential to ensure the integrity of the overall design. Diligent focus on the quality of deliverables, managing project budget and schedule, building a profile in the industry, and keeping up-to-date with innovations and developments are key aspects of this role. Furthermore, coaching & mentoring of junior staff and compliance with Arcadis Health and Safety standards are vital responsibilities. Qualifications & Experience: - B.E / B. Tech in Mechanical, Civil, and Environmental Engineering from a recognized University. M.E/M. Tech desirable. - 5 to 10 years of experience in designing mechanical and process equipment for water supply & water treatment plants, sewerage & sewage treatment plants, and drainage systems. Required Competencies: - Proficiency in designing and analyzing hydraulic systems such as pump stations, including pumps, valves, and pipelines. - Knowledge of Auto CAD MEP, MEP Revit, Navisworks is a must. - Ability to prepare and check general specifications, mechanical specifications, contract documents, etc. - Hands-on experience with site supervision, construction support, and commissioning activities. - Experience in the review of P&ID drawings related to the water and wastewater treatment process. - Strong technical background and capability to design raw and potable water pumping stations, sewage pumping stations, particularly in association with pumps and associated piping, preparation of pump curve, selection of pumps, air blowers, chlorination equipment building services, etc. - Exposure to piping standards for ductile iron and/or steel large diameter pipes and drafting material specification is a must. - Knowledge of international codes, standards, and practices related to UK/Middle East/USA water industry is preferable. - Understanding of health and safety standards and environmental regulations. - Experience within a consultancy environment specifically in the water/wastewater industry will be preferred. - Strong verbal and written communication skills in the English language, with good report writing, analytical, and computer skills. He/She should be graduate in Instrumentation & Control / Electronics engineering with 5 to 15 years experience in Detailed Instrument and Control System Engineering. Should be able to manage the Material Requisitions, Technical Bid Evaluations, Detail Engineering, Vendor documentation review, Vendor follow up & Testing (FAT) and should be able to support the engineering for Package PLC and MMS systems. Should be able to collaborate with cross-functional teams to support, design and develop Control & Safety Systems Should have past exposure to various studies & practices such has Hazop, SIL classification & verification, Alarm Rationalization, Cyber security Risk assessment etc. Should be able to collaborate with project teams to define automation requirements, estimate project timelines, and deliver solutions within established schedules and budgets Should be able to support and carry out site activities related to Installation supervision, SAT for Control & Safety Systems and support pre-commissioning & commissioning activities (Loop check, Interlock check, Start-up, PGTR etc.). NETWORK & LINKS: INTERNAL Field Operation Test & Commissioning team OVERALL PURPOSE OF THE ROLE: Prepare and execute testing activities in support to one or several Projects and /or Programs and Bids if required RESPONSIBILITIES: Prepares and executes testing activities in support to one or several Projects and / or Programs initiatives or bids, for technologies of railway signalling under the direction of his / her hierarchy and in conformance with Alstom Transport policies and standards, applicable regulations and professional standards (including EHS) Executes of specific Testing activities according the testing procedure / documentation and Sub-system Leader a/o PrCOM instruction. Could supports V&V team and perform test on platform / in factory as per request. Complies with EHS procedures. Performs activities with quality, especially Test reporting. Use the correct tools and equipment to perform the electrical and mechanical test activities. Ensures the equipment and tools in their care.
