We are seeking a talented and experienced Senior Associate to join our Litigation team in Mumbai. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in handling complex litigation matters spanning various sectors such as commercial, civil, corporate, and regulatory issues. As a Senior Associate, you will be entrusted with pivotal responsibilities including managing cases, offering strategic guidance to clients, and representing them in court and arbitration proceedings. Key Responsibilities: - Lead and oversee a diverse portfolio of intricate litigation matters encompassing commercial disputes, civil suits, contractual disputes, and regulatory issues. - Provide strategic legal counsel to clients on litigation, dispute resolution, and risk management. - Represent clients in courts, tribunals, and arbitrations across different platforms. - Draft, review, and file legal documents like petitions, complaints, appeals, etc. - Supervise and coordinate junior associates and support staff in case management. - Formulate case strategies by conducting legal research, preparing briefs, and advising clients on litigation strategies. - Attend hearings and present arguments before courts, tribunals, and other relevant bodies. - Foster client relationships by keeping them informed with timely updates, advising on case progression, and offering effective legal solutions. - Negotiate and resolve disputes amicably to secure favorable outcomes for clients. - Manage and organize case documentation while ensuring compliance with all legal procedures. - Stay abreast of the latest developments in litigation law, court procedures, and regulatory amendments. - Contribute to the firm's expansion by identifying new business prospects and reinforcing client connections. Key Requirements: - LLB (Hons) or equivalent law degree from a recognized institution. - Minimum 4-6 years of post-qualification experience in litigation, preferably in a reputable law firm or as an in-house counsel. - Extensive expertise in handling commercial, civil, Arbitration, and regulatory litigation matters. - Profound understanding of the Indian legal system, court procedures, and dispute resolution mechanisms. - Excellent legal research, drafting, and analytical capabilities. - Demonstrated success in appearing and arguing matters before various courts and tribunals. - Ability to effectively manage multiple high-value cases and meet deadlines. - Strong negotiation and communication proficiencies. - Experience in leadership and mentoring junior associates. - Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and legal research tools. JOB TITLE: LAWYER (GUJARATI PROFICIENCY REQUIRED) Location: Gujarat, India (Resident Candidates Preferred) Experience Required: Minimum 4 Years (Post-Qualification) in Litigation Management Job Description: We are seeking a committed and detail-oriented Litigation Management Lawyer with over 4 years of demonstrable experience in handling litigation portfolios, coordinating with external and internal counsels, and ensuring efficient legal risk management across judicial and quasi-judicial forums. The ideal candidate must be proficient in reading and drafting in Gujarati and English , in addition to possessing sound knowledge of civil and criminal litigation practices. Key Responsibilities: Independently manage and supervise the end-to-end lifecycle of litigation matters, including civil, criminal, regulatory, and commercial disputes. Coordinate effectively with external advocates, law firms, and Team Lead to ensure timely and strategic handling of cases. Monitor case progress across forums including but not limited to District Courts, High Courts, Tribunals, and Consumer Forums. Maintain comprehensive litigation trackers, status reports, and case summaries for management reporting and strategic review. Draft, review, and vet basic pleadings including notices, affidavits, written statements, rejoinders, miscellaneous applications along with FIRs, complaints before appropriate authorities. To file various application before GIDC and to liaison with GIDC Officials all over Gujarat. Attend court proceedings and dealing with Police personnel as and when required, independently. Provide litigation risk analysis and pre-litigation assessments to internal business teams. Maintain and update legal records, files, and documentation in both English and Gujarati where necessary. Translate legal documents from English to Gujarati and vice versa, where required. Includes extensive travelling in the state of Gujarat, including but not limited to, Surat, Vadodara, Ahmedabad etc. Required Skills and Qualifications: LL.B. from a recognized university and duly enrolled with the State Bar Council. Minimum 4 years of post-qualification experience with a focus on litigation management. Strong understanding of civil and criminal procedure, substantive laws, and court practices. Working knowledge of Gujarat Industrial development corporation (GIDC) Lease hold rights transfer process. Proficiency in Gujarati language ability to read, write, and interpret legal documents and correspondence in Gujarati is essential. Good communication skills and ability to work under minimal supervision. Good drafting skills and familiarity with standard legal formats and templates. Preferred Attributes: Prior experience in working with in-house legal departments, law firms, or independent practice managing mid-to-high-volume litigation. Familiarity with legal documentation systems and digital case management tools. Compensation: As per industry standards and commensurate with experience.
