Job Description

The Cold Storage Unit Supervisor (Fisheries) will have the responsibility of overseeing the daily operations within the cold storage facility. Your role will involve ensuring optimal storage conditions, maintaining inventory accuracy, and ensuring compliance with food safety regulations. To excel in this position, you should possess hands-on experience in cold chain logistics, warehouse management, and handling perishable goods. Your primary focus will be on maintaining product integrity, minimizing waste, and enhancing operational efficiency. You will be expected to oversee cold storage operations, ensuring the proper handling, storage, and retrieval of seafood products. Monitoring and regulating temperature controls to maintain the optimal storage conditions for fresh and frozen seafood will be a key part of your responsibilities. It will also be essential to implement and enforce food safety and hygiene standards in accordance with industry regulations. Supervising inventory movements to maintain accurate stock levels, minimize shrinkage, and reduce product loss will be crucial. You will collaborate with procurement, inventory, and logistics teams to ensure smooth inbound and outbound operations. Regular inspections of refrigeration equipment and coordination of maintenance or repairs as necessary will be part of your routine tasks. Maintaining detailed records of stock levels, temperature logs, and operational reports will be essential. Additionally, you will be responsible for training and supervising cold storage personnel to ensure adherence to safety protocols and efficient workflow. Improving storage efficiency through space optimization, FIFO management, and best handling practices will be another aspect of your role. To be successful in this position, you should hold a Diploma/Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or a related field, along with a minimum of 2 years of experience in cold storage, warehouse supervision, or seafood processing. Strong knowledge of cold chain logistics, temperature control systems, and inventory management is required. Familiarity with food safety regulations and industry best practices will be advantageous. Excellent problem-solving, organizational, and leadership skills are essential for this role. You should also demonstrate the ability to manage and train warehouse staff effectively, along with strong attention to detail and a proactive approach to operational challenges. This is a full-time position, with benefits including paid sick time. The work schedule is during the day shift, and the job location is in Medinipur, West Bengal. Candidates are expected to reliably commute or be willing to relocate with an employer-provided relocation package. Experience as a unit supervisor for at least 2 years is required for this role.,
