Department/Unit: CCR Operations Reporting To: CCR Shift In-charge Direct Reports: None Job Purpose/Summary: To operate and monitor the rod coiling/down coiler machine and associated equipment, ensuring that newly cast copper rods are correctly coiled into bundles or spools, meeting specified dimensions and quality standards for handling and storage. Key Responsibilities & Duties: Coiler Operation: Operate the rod coiler from the control panel, managing coiling speed, tension, and bundle formation. Rod Transfer: Monitor the seamless transfer of cast rod from the cooling section to the coiler. Quality Check: Visually inspect coiled rods for defects, proper winding, and correct bundle weight/dimensions. Binding/Tying: Ensure bundles are properly tied and secured as per specifications. Troubleshooting: Identify and respond to minor operational issues with the coiler (e.g., tangles, uneven winding). Report major issues to the Shift In-charge. Safety: Adhere strictly to all safety procedures related to working with moving machinery, hot rods, and material handling. Use appropriate PPE. Housekeeping: Maintain a clean and organized work area around the coiler. Data Recording: Accurately record production data related to coiled rods (number of bundles, weight). Key Performance Indicators (KPIs): Number of Coils/Bundles Produced Coil Quality (Winding Consistency, No Tangles) Coiler Machine Uptime (Shift-wise) Safety Incidents (Coiling Area) Required Qualifications: ITI in Mechanical, Fitter, or equivalent vocational training. Required Experience: 1-3 years of experience in operating coiling machines or similar material handling equipment in a manufacturing environment. Required Skills: Basic mechanical aptitude.
