Roles & Responsibilities: We are looking for a Tech Lead Data Engineer who will be responsible for designing, implementing, and supporting an analytical data infrastructure that provides ad-hoc access to large datasets and computing power. You will interface with other technology teams to extract, transform, and load data from a wide variety of sources using SQL and AWS big data technologies. Additionally, you will create and support real-time data pipelines based on AWS technologies including Glue, Redshift/Spectrum, Kinesis, EMR, and Athena. Continuous research of the latest big data and visualization technologies is expected to provide new capabilities and increase efficiency. Collaborating closely with team members to drive real-time model implementations for monitoring and alerting of risk systems is a key aspect of the role. You will also work with other tech teams to implement advanced analytics algorithms that leverage rich datasets for statistical analysis, prediction, clustering, and machine learning. Furthermore, you will help improve ongoing reporting and analysis processes, automating or simplifying self-service support for customers. Requirements: Qualifications: - 9+ years of industry experience in software development, data engineering, business intelligence, data science, or related fields with a proven track record of manipulating, processing, and extracting value from large datasets. - Degree/Diploma in computer science, engineering, mathematics, or a related technical discipline. - Experience working with AWS big data technologies such as Redshift, S3, EMR, Spark, EKS, Glue, and Kafka. - Experience in building/operating highly available, distributed systems for data extraction, ingestion, and processing of large datasets. - Strong background in data modeling, ETL development, and data warehousing. - Proficiency in using big data processing technology including Spark and PySpark. - Knowledge of data management fundamentals and data storage principles. - Familiarity with business intelligence reporting tools like Tableau, Business Objects, Cognos, Power BI, etc. - Skills in SQL, Data Warehousing, end-to-end knowledge of AWS, and CI/CD. Preferred Qualifications: - Experience working with distributed systems related to data storage and computing. - Understanding of software engineering best practices throughout the development lifecycle, including agile methodologies, coding standards, code reviews, source management, build processes, testing, and operations. - Knowledge of web crawling and data extraction is beneficial. - Additional expertise in Redshift, ETL tools like Talend, Informatica is a plus.
