We are hiring an experienced Software Engineer - 3 (PHP) for a 6-month contractual role (extendable) at our Bangalore office. The role is ideal for candidates with a strong background in backend and frontend system migrations, modern application development, and containerized deployments. The candidate will play a critical role in migrating legacy systems, modernizing applications, and building scalable, high-performance APIs and SPAs. This position requires deep expertise in PHP (legacy and modern Laravel), React, CI/CD pipelines, and Docker, along with exposure to Golang microservices and event-driven architectures. Key ResponsibilitiesLead migration of legacy PHP (5.3) and CodeIgniter 1.7.2 systems to modern frameworks. Design and develop Laravel 12 (BFF pattern) APIs, middleware, service layers, and containerized applications. Migrate front-end systems from jQuery-based SSR to modular React components with React 19, TypeScript, Ant Design, and Vite. Build and optimize CI/CD pipelines with Git-based automation (Bitbucket + Jenkins). Implement unit, integration, and automation testing with PHPUnit, Pest, Jest, and Cypress. Enforce coding standards, linting, coverage, and static analysis for code quality. Build and manage Dockerized development environments and deployment pipelines. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design decoupled, event-driven systems. Work with Kafka/Beanstalkd for message brokering, publish-subscribe, and queueing patterns.
