We are seeking an experienced ABAP Lead with a minimum of 10 years of SAP development experience, specializing in SAP ECC and S/4HANA. The ideal candidate should possess a proven track record in migrating custom code from ECC to S/4HANA, optimizing it for contemporary SAP environments, and adhering to clean core principles. As an ABAP Lead, you will be responsible for overseeing technical design, development, and code enhancement activities within SAP transformation initiatives. Your primary responsibilities will include spearheading and managing custom code migration projects from SAP ECC to S/4HANA, involving comprehensive analysis, remediation, and enhancement. You will leverage SAP tools like the Custom Code Migration App to evaluate, customize, and validate the compatibility of custom code with S/4HANA. Furthermore, you will play a crucial role in promoting clean core initiatives by minimizing modifications to the digital core and introducing extensibility through SAP BTP and in-app extensions. Your expertise will be vital in crafting scalable ABAP solutions utilizing ABAP Objects, CDS Views, AMDPs, OData, and other S/4HANA-specific technologies. In addition, you will provide guidance to the technical team on rewriting or modernizing outdated code and adapting custom programs to align with S/4HANA data models and architecture. Collaborating with functional teams, you will help redesign business processes and map custom logic to standard S/4HANA functionalities. Your responsibilities will also entail conducting performance optimizations, code reviews, and quality assessments to ensure adherence to SAP best practices. As a technical leader, you will mentor junior developers and ensure the timely delivery of high-quality solutions. The ideal candidate should possess the following qualifications and experience: - Over 10 years of hands-on experience in SAP ABAP development across both ECC and S/4HANA environments. - Demonstrated expertise in custom code migration from SAP ECC to S/4HANA, including code remediation and simplification. - Profound understanding of Clean Core principles and familiarity with SAP BTP, Steampunk, and extensibility options. - Proficiency in ABAP Objects, CDS Views, AMDPs, OData Services, Extensions, and SAP Gateway. - Knowledge of SAP modules such as FI/CO, MM, SD, PP, and their technical integration points. - Experience in upgrade and transformation projects, encompassing greenfield, brownfield, or selective data transitions. Must be able to demonstrate knowledge of WCF architecture and configuration. Microsoft SQL Server 2008 or later. Must be fluent in basic SQL and stored procedures Experience with Microsoft Team Foundation Server with emphasis on source control. Additional experience with Agile templates within TFS is a plus. Internet Information Service(IIS) 7 or later. Must have basic understanding of application pools, web sites, web applications, windows and basic authentication. Knowledgeable of SOA design principles, mocking frameworks, and performance testing Minimum of 4 years of experience with project development / methodologies experience full software development lifecycle, Agile, etc. Must be comfortable with stories, sprints (working within a 3 week window to complete tasks). Must be comfortable with rapidly changing and/or loosely defined requirements that are refined over time.
